Farm & Territory
For over a century, the D'Angelo family has been passionately dedicated to the monovarietal cultivation of olive trees "Nocellara del Belìce", a native Sicilian variety among the most esteemed in Europe and, not surprisingly, the only one to be awarded the double Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), both as table olives and as oil.
The G. D'Angelo farm, located in the territory of Castelvetrano-Selinunte, has always had as its mission the production and wholesale of large-sized table olives. However, a limited quantity of the harvest is also destined for its private clientele in the form of extra-virgin olive oil in cans branded "Selinòce".
The farm contributes to keep alive in the territory a multi-millennial olive tradition that has its roots in the Greek colony of Selinunte, as evidenced by the discovery of ancient stone mills inside the park. The colony, in fact, founded in the second half of the VII century BC, has survived its time and is today one of the largest and most impressive archaeological parks in Europe.
